Just saw the Ring 2 movie and it was a complete disappointment. The first one was brilliant, because of the mystery being researched and revealed bit by bit in the best traditions of adventure games, and very creepy atmosphere, reinforced by the symbols from the mysterious videoclip appearing IRL, like the landmarks leading closer to the source.
Was so looking forward to see the sequel, and it appeared to be a mediocre Hollywood kid-horror flick, with no sense of mystery/adventure whatsoever, very predictable and even non-scary. The included clips and images from the Ring 1 feel like a plagiarism. A total waste of time.
Funny that both Ring novels are pretty decent (although the 1st movie
IMHO is a lot better than the novel, all the visual symbolism just
can't be expressed in the same way in text). But the 2nd Ring movie is
not based on the novel.
Who's your favorite movie villain?
Gul Dukat - the charismatic, strong-willed and devious Cardassian leader from the Star Trek: Deep Space 9 series.
